Principal/Senior Firmware Engineer
Job Description
Our company Whizpace Pte Ltd (www.whizpace.com) is a spinoff from A*STAR specializing in long-range wireless communication solutions with applications for Smart Nation, IoT and rural Internets. The company is looking for a Principal/Senior MAC and Firmware Engineer. The candidate filling this position will handle a wide range of important duties. As the company is a startup, the candidate is expected to be self-driven and work in a fast-pace environment, this will give the candidate a rare opportunity to be exposed to the operation of the whole company and widen the horizons of the candidate.
Responsibilities

Design networking and MAC protocols of wireless communication systems

Firmware implementation onto target embedded processors

Program and write radio drivers for the lower-level functionalities

Interface and test with other hardware and software modules
Requirements
-
Bachelor, Master or PhD Degree in EEE, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent

5 years of working experience. Candidates with more experience may be offered a Principal Engineer position

Knowledge in various networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, etc.

Experience with at least one MAC protocol especially WLAN Wi-Fi protocol

Familiar with network simulation tools such as NS-2, NS-3

Previous experience with product design-ins, other layers of wireless communications will be added advantage

Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, teamwork and eager to do better than others are all essential to this position.
